Platon Documentary

I really enjoyed the genuineness of the portraits he took, he even spent a great deal of time during the documentary discussing the process he undertakes when taking his photos.

I felt as though the backgrounds he uses detracts some levels of quality from his images.

His dyslexia forced him to simplify the world around him. Within his photography, you see this in no pop and circumstance, as he conveys the truest aspect of his subject.

1.) I learned about how to reveal a persons true personality, through the “intimacy” of photographer and subject.

2.)I learned that Platon was discriminated against because he was a foreigner,  and how this influenced him to really focus of empathetic humanity.

3.)I learned that the art of portraits are not simply for documentation, but to gain understanding of your subject, through the most basic aspect of human nature, sight. What we see when we look at a portrait of someone should be a sense of empathy, and the feeling of unity based on your universal humanity
